About Karen

Karen Ankers is a novelist, poet and playwright based in Anglesey, North
Wales. She was awarded a PhD in Creative and Critical Writing from Bangor
University in 2022. She has published three novels and a fourth is due to be
published by Bridge House Publishing in June 2026.
Her recently released novel, Luca, is a mystery with elements of folk horror.
Set in an isolated village it has already been described in reviews as
“beautiful” and “haunting”. It is available from Amazon, from selected
bookshops, or direct from the author.
Karen’s first two novels, The Crossing Place and The Stone Dancers, are also
available from Amazon or from the author and have been well received by
readers. Her short plays, published by Lazybee Scripts, have been performed
in the UK, USA, Australia, Canada and Malaysia, and she has also written an
award-winning short film, The Afterplanner, directed by Ben Mole. Karen’s
poems have been published in various magazines and anthologies, and she
published her first poetry collection, One Word At A Time, in 2017. She enjoys offering editing and mentoring services to writers and teaching workshops and classes. Details available on request.
